Yes, summer is right around the corner and registrations are now being
taken for AR&FC’s popular summer day camp program. For children ages five
through 11, Sports ’n’ Splash is an all-day program from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM
that introduces kids to all of the sports available at AR&FC. Pre- and
post-camp care are also available for working parents. Camp Director Sarah
Scalzo plans a great summer with a totally new curriculum this summer
featuring Tae Kwon Do, Junior Olympics, Kids’ Dance, and Soccer.
Sarah has directed this popular program for two years now and promises
changes not only in the curriculum, but in her staffing as well.

special one-week session begins Monday, June 4th. Regular two-week camp
sessions begin Monday, June 11th.

Sports ’N Splash takes complete advantage of the AR&FC’s
facilities and staff. Children exercise and participate in a variety of
athletic activities including swimming, tae kwon do, basketball,
racquetball, tennis, soccer, kids’ dance, arts ’n crafts, and more. Skill
development, teamwork and sportsmanship are stressed and our primary goal is
to make sure all participating children have a great time!
Sports ’N Splash will provide snacks and drinks twice daily to
participants. Children can bring lunch or take advantage of our healthy
lunch option provided by AR&FC’s restaurant, Cafe La Court.
Healthy Lunch Option: Daily choices include healthy sandwiches, low fat
quesadillas, drinks, fruit, smoothies, and more. Only $50.00 per session.
Swim Lesson Option: Sports ’N Splash campers may enroll in camp
sessions with or without swim lessons.
Tennis Camp Option: Campers may select this option. Tennis camp consists
of ten days, two hours per day. Campers are taken to tennis camp and then
returned to camp curriculum.
Sports ’N Splash offers participating children the opportunity and
environment to explore their interests in a safe, relaxed manner.
All New Curriculum
Swimming - Recreational swimming, water games and formal swim lessons
(additional fee) will be a daily part of the camp curriculum.
Tae Kwon Do - Introductory exposure to the Korean Martial Art that
integrates physical, mental and emotional discipline. Campers will form a
sound basis from which to determine if they want to continue training.
Basketball - Organized games and camp shoot-arounds utilizing our
indoor and outdoor basketball facilities.
Arts & Crafts - Campers will be encouraged to express their
creativity through a variety of proven arts and crafts projects each day at
camp.
Tennis - Emphasis will be on fun games for campers of all skill
levels requiring minimal instruction. Both our regulation and short courts
will be used. Tennis camp option available (additional fee).
Wallyball - Lively games for all ages on our regulation wallyball
court (on a racquetball court).
Kids’ Dance - An introduction to Funk, Hip Hop, Jazz, Swing, and/or
Latin Dance will be offered each week to campers of all ages.
Soccer/Racquetball - Racquetball & Soccer will be a regular part of
each camper’s experience providing great fun and exercise.
Olympics Day - One day per week, campers will be grouped together as
teams to compete in a variety of fun events as Sports ‘N Splash Day Camp
captures the spirit of the Olympics.
