Yoga enthusiasts! We offer a variety of Yoga classes at different levels
to suit everyone’s needs. We have a Beginner Yoga class for those who have
never tried Yoga and want to learn the basic positions. There is also
a full scale yoga class, masterfully creating a mind body experience, with
an hour and a half of various stretches, poses and meditative positions. All
levels welcome!
Pilates
What is Mat Pilates? The term
Pilates was coined by Joseph Pilates who wanted to offer a way for dancers
to increase their joint flexibility, “CORE” strength, balance and stretching
abilities. Today everyone can benefit from his invention! As with a Yoga
class it also provides a mind, body experience with slow precise movements
and relaxing music. Check the newsletter or group fitness schedule for
current days and times. See you there!
Water Aerobics
Water aerobics is the ideal class for all
levels of fitness. Since it is predominantly non-weight bearing, those
suffering from arthritis, osteoporosis, or chronic injury can benefit
greatly without discomfort.
The gentle resistance of the water, combined
with forceful aerobic moves accelerates the heart rate for cardiovascular
conditioning. In addition, floatation dumbbells provide greater resistance
for muscular toning.
Whether you are a trained athlete or a newly
reformed couch potato, water aerobics is a fantastic cross-training class.
